Cleanroom Garments The generally recognised priority function of a cleanroom garment is to contain and restrict particles and fibres released from the human operative, so preventing contamination of product and process. A cleanroom garment system should target basic criteria: Containment of body-generated particles and aerosols Nil particle release from the garment fabric itself Control of electrostatic discharge Control release of chemical and biological residues
These targets should be achieved, bearing in mind operator-comfort and safety and have acceptable garment durability and consistent performance levels Cleanroom garments should be manufactured to the guidelines as under: A minimum of seams, enveloped in order to prevent debris escape Use of bartacks at critical stress points Stainless steel poppers Polyester zips Non-shedding tape 100% polyester fabric - static dissipative and autoclavable/gamma irradiable 100% continuous filament polyester thread
- Final specification of garment style, will of course be subject to discussion and agreement between LCC Eurotex and its customers and we are delighted to offer our experience in this direction
