General Purpose Workwear Poloshirt – EN531

Unlike most Poloshirts worn for Industrial use, this product can best be described as being made from a 'breathable comfort' 100% synthetic fabric. The significant difference between this and other products of 'mixed' fibre manufacture, is the combined durability/comfort and colour fastness - particilarly when it comes to Industrial Laundering requirements.

Pontella^® is a relatively new fibre developed to enhance the comfort of 100% polyester fabrics. Using synthetic fabrics makes a garment more durable to the laundering process, without the effects of either colour fading or shrinkage. Its construction is a unique combination of a conventional polyester filament core, for resistance, with a microfilament outer sheath for comfort.

Pontella^® is very comfortable on the skin, allowing perspiration to be dispersed to the outside of the garment, because of the special fibres used in its construction. It can hold up to 170% of its own weight in its special ‘micro-loops’ and ensures the ventilation of the body through evaporation. Simultaneously it admits the passage of air allowing the body’s ventilation.

Gives a garment a handle which is similar to that of natural fibres, a new softness and an even more material aspect.

Figure 1 shows Advanced Pontella^® construction with two different families of filaments.

• The core: coarser straight filaments which give Pontella® its strength, stability and resilience.

• The sheath: finer micro-filament, looped, which cover the core and give the spun like handle, feel and bulk.
