Static control
Electrostatic contamination - an unseen threat in static controlled areas and cleanrooms Static Electricity is an invisible menace - impossible to prevent and difficult to control.
Unseen, unheard and often unfelt, it can cause fatal damage to electronic components - resulting in expensive re-work if detected prior to release. Worse still, failure when in the field results in loss of customer confidence, costly engineer’s time and expensive replacement and rework. In electronic assembly, most defects caused by uncontrolled electrostatic discharge can be traced to charged personnel making Static dissipative protective garments an essential part of an ESD control programme.
EUROTEX© ESD garments are manufactured in the latest static-dissipative fabrics -compatible with current EN standards and are designed for maximum operator comfort and performance working with your grounding systems
Uncontrolled ESD: § causes damage to sensitive devices § increases ignition or explosion risk to solvents, gases and dust § causes shock or discomfort to operatives § attracts dust and particles to your critical areas
Our ESD quality control department continuously monitors garments to BS EN 1149 and IOC 61340*
* BS EN61340-5-1 and -2 standards can be referenced for guidance on protection of ESD sensitive areas, but the IEC published a new version of 61340-5-1 in August 2007 as a worldwide ESD standard, which is likely to eventually replace the current BS EN61340-5-1 |
